Dr Jason Wendt BVScPartner
Jason attended Ipswich Boys Grammar, graduated with first class honours from the University of Queensland in 1996 and has worked in the local area ever since. He has a wealth of knowledge and experience in all areas of veterinary medicine with both domestic and farm animals. He is particularly interested in small animal internal medicine and critical care and regularly attends further-education courses on the subjects. When not at work he enjoys taking his three young sons to the beach or working with his cows.
Dr Scott Campbell BVSc (Hons) M.A.C.V.Sc, D.A.C.V.NPartner
Scott graduated from University of Queensland in 1994 and originally worked at Booval for 2 years from 1999. He then worked in the UK and US where he gained his Membership in Small Animal Medicine and became a Diplomate of the American College in Small Animal Nutrition. In 2007 he returned home and rejoined the team where many clients still remembered his friendly, approachable manner and his absolute dedication to pet care. Dr. Scott is an avid traveller and motorbike rider and at home is kept busy with his twin girls and son, plus Cassidy the cat who has a malformed front leg.
Teejay HaniGeneral Manager – Ipswich Vet Group
Teejay comes from a background in business management with over 20 years of experience managing teams in retail, hospitality and travel. Teejay has been with Ipswich Vet Group since 2014 and brings a passion for people and animals to our clinics and a focus on customer service and patient care. On any given day Teejay will make his way between our clinics, there to help our staff, you and your pets.
BrittanyClinic Administrations Coordinator - Ipswich Vet Group
Brittany joined our team in 2017, after graduating from the University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Veterinary Technology and Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing. Brittany has a passion for animals and always wanted to work with them as a career. She loves all animals, but can’t resist a cuddle with a border collie. Her fur (and reptile) family consist of her border collie, Theo (who is always eating things he shouldn’t), her cat, Tiger and Belle the Eastern longneck Turtle. Brittany is the Clinic Administrations Coordinator for Ipswich Vet Group
HannahHead Nurse - Ipswich Vet Group
Hannah became part of Ipswich Vet Group after completing her practical placement at Booval Vet Hospital. The team couldn’t let her go as her dedication and passion within the Veterinary industry was something that was truly admirable. Hannah’s calm and quiet nature makes all the animals feel at ease and she treats them all as if they were her own. Hannah has two (very “fluffy”) cats, Mickey and Dobby who both have very big personalities, and an array of birds which she has either nursed back to health or raised from babies during her time as a Nurse. Hannah is also the Head Nurse for Ipswich Vet Group.
Dr Amy Menendez BVSc (Hons)Head Vet - Ipswich Vet Group
Dr. Amy Menendez is the Head Vet at Booval Vet Hospital. She has always had a drive to help animals from a young age.She has an interest in internal medicine and enjoys being able to put together pieces of the puzzle to achieve a diagnosis to help pets and their owners. She has a gentle demeanour and makes you and your pets feel right at home. You can take comfort in knowing she takes great care with all of her patients. Out of work, Amy is a a keen soccer player and has a 12 year old Shetland Sheepdog, Dash.
Dr Gracen MasonSenior Associate Vet
Dr Gracen Mason knew she wanted to help animals from childhood and graduated from a Bachelor of Veterinary Science at James Cook University in 2017. She has returned to Queensland in 2022, after working in the UK and is excited to join the Ipswich Vet Team.
Gracen is a self-confessed cat lady and she and her partner have 3 cats at home. Lance, Australian born and very sassy, as well as their 2 failed-foster cats from England, Scoot and Zodi, who they couldn’t bear to leave behind.
At work, Gracen enjoys meeting and getting to know families and their pets and the problem solving involved when patients can’t simply tell you what is wrong. She is passionate about patient care and strives to make sure your pets feel as comfortable and loved in the clinic as they would at home.
Outside of work she enjoys reading, arts and craft and spending time in nature.
Dr Isabella O’Connor BVSc (Hons)Senior Associate Vet
Isabella graduated from the University of Queensland in 2018, with a keen interest in surgery. She loves all animals, but has a soft spot for Labradors. At home, she has a black Labrador “Leonard”, and a ginger cat “Charlie”. When she is not at work, she enjoys spending time with her husband and young daughter renovating their home.
Dr Ze Yann SongAssociate Vet
It was always a dream of Dr. Song’s to become a veterinarian! He always knew he wanted to be involved in animal care and medicine ever since he got his first pet dog, and his experiences in animal shelters and veterinary clinics have only reinforced that passion. Dr. Song has a special interest in small animal medicine and critical care, and always provides a gold standard of care for his patients. Dr. Song has a Ragdoll kitten called Norbert, and 2 fish tanks at home! Outside of work, he enjoys playing the piano, badminton and board games!
MaddiClinic Team Leader
Maddi joined the team as a qualified Veterinary Nurse in 2020 and in 2022 was promoted to Clinic Team Leader for Booval Vet Hospital. She has a passion for pets and pet care Maddi enjoys the ability nursing gives her to advocate for those who don’t have the voice to do so and to share her knowledge and experience with pet owners about gold standard animal care.
Justice has always loved working with all sorts of animals. Justice started in the industry volunteering at veterinary clinics from a young age, and knew this was what she wanted to do. Justice became a receptionist at Booval in 2021 and fell in love with the work! She has a 5 year old Kelpie X named ‘Sunny’ and a 14 year old Border Collie named ‘Bro’ who both love to keep me on my toes! Justice was appointed to Senior Receptionist at Booval Vet Hospital in 2022.
Courtney has been nursing since 2020 and has loved every minute of it. Courtney started nursing as she has a strong passion for animals and helping those in need. At home, Courtney has 2 Maltese, Mia and Max, a nanday conure named Lou, and a cat named Gizmo. Gizmo has a strong place in Courtney’s heart as he was brought home at 3 days old and nursed back to health. He quickly became part of the family. In Courtney’s spare time you can find her dancing and competing at many competitions over QLD, or playing netball!
Amy G has a passion for pets and people which is why she is such an amazing member of our team! She has an English Staffy named Frankie who she spoils and loves very much.
Luke has always loved animals so he became a vet nurse to work with them every day. Luke started his nursing career in Sydney about 7 years ago, then moved to country NSW and worked there for almost 4 years in a mixed practice before finally moving to Ipswich in 2022 when he joined our team at Ipswich Vet Group. Luke has an Australian bulldog called barney.
KayleeReceptionist/Trainee Vet Nurse
Kaylee moved to Queensland from Victoria after finishing her zoology degree to continue in the animal industry. Kaylee has a special interest in wildlife and exotics but loves all animals and hopes to be a vet nurse or zookeeper one day! At home she has four spiny lead insects and two cats.
Elise became a vet nurse because of a deep passion for animals. At home Elise shares her space with her lovely, crazy little babies, Remy and Goose. They remind her of the value and gift of having pets and keep her on her toes!
Andrea commenced her career in the Veterinary Industry when she joined the clinic in 2006 . As a qualified Veterinary Nurse Andrea enjoys being able to share her passion for animals and educating clients on keeping their pets as healthy and safe as possible. In 2014 Andrea was promoted to Nurse Manager of the Ipswich Veterinary Group. Since then she has welcomed her son and daughter into the world and has stepped back from her nursing role and now manages the accounting of all three clinics. Andrea cares for her geriatric cat Monty and small herd of alpacas.
